About Me

mom baby nature doula postpartum

Becoming a doula was a new adventure for me. With caring for my son (now 10 years old!!), birth and postpartum doula certification, and a variety of experience working with families under my belt, I’m here to support your new adventures in parenting.

After many years working in the non-profit and consulting world on projects ranging from women’s health policy to solar farms, it was time for a change. I have always loved babies and felt strongly that parents need and deserve more help.

Having a new baby, whether it’s your first or more (or multiple at once), is hard. It takes time, space, and energy that just didn’t exist previously. Children change your life in seemingly infinite ways. Cultures throughout the world for millennia have recognized this and created customs to collectively support families. Today, birth and postpartum doulas draw from and continue these practices, honoring those that led the way.

To help facilitate a positive birth experience, I provide comprehensive support during the prenatal, birth, and immediate postpartum period:

  • Prenatal education and birth planning to help you understand your choices and prepare for Plan A, B, and C.

  • Emotional support throughout our time working together so that you are better equipped to identify and handle all the emotions that arise when your family is expanding.

  • Continuous physical and emotional support during labor and delivery, following your lead.

  • Guidance with early postpartum recovery and feeding initiation.

Postpartum, I help parents and families with a variety of practical and emotional support, such as:

  • Lactation education to support breast/chestfeeding.

  • Direct baby care and education around newborns through 12 months.

  • Assistance with establishing feeding and sleeping routines that match your desired approach.

  • Household organization, including meal and snack preparation, laundry, light cleaning, and dishwashing.

  • Assistance with wellness measures to focus on sleep, physical recovery, and mental health.

  • Referrals for additional community or medical help when needed.

With such support, the ultimate goal is to leave you confident that you don’t need my help anymore!

More about me

Born in Seattle, I grew up in this beautiful corner of the northwest we get to call home. Before settling down in Lake Forest Park, I was lucky enough to try out living in New York City, Berlin (Germany), Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Seattle again during my university and early career years. I earned a BA from New York University and MPA from the University of Washington.

Outside of work you can find me adventuring with my husband and kiddo, reading, watching silly TV, lifting heavy things, practicing yoga, and eating all the food.

“My tummy’s feeling a little droopy so I’m having pasta.”
