Rachael was an incredible doula, and I could not recommend her more highly. In our first meeting, Rachael was kind, a great listener, and made us feel respected and safe. I knew I wanted an unmedicated out-of-hospital birth. With this decision came the possibility of a hospital transfer, whether planned or emergent. I wanted a doula that would help me through that emotional transition, if it were to happen. It brought me peace of mind to know that Rachael would be there in that stressful moment. I ended up having my dream birth experience. It was slow, then fast, incredibly difficult, yet immensely rewarding. Rachael helped us adjust to our newly expanded family, providing invaluable support during both day and night shifts. She offered advice on everything from breastfeeding to baby wearing, shared quick and hearty recipes, was always available to help with light household tasks like laundry, and provided tips on how to include and help our older daughter adjust to being a big sister...Rachael approaches the work very professionally, has a calm and calming presence, clearly loves the work, and is a natural with newborns and young children alike.
